Age of hands
Our hands are that part of our body that interacts mostly with others, after our faces. Over the years, our hands are submitted to a constant muscle-tendon activity and are continually stressed by contact with the external environment: from mechanical micro-traumas, by exposure to the light and sun to contact with irritants of the most varied nature. The ageing of the hands entails some phenomena which are essentially made up of the progressive degeneration of the bones of the skeleton (arthrosis), which might possibly be prevented with systemic treatments, of the ageing of the skin and the progressive skeletonization of the back of the hand, which appears with the visibility of the dorsal tendons and the prominence of the superficial veins.
How to rejuvenate the hands
The quality of the skin can be improved with the use of pulsed light, lasers or peelings, which will bring a progressive reduction of all those lesions, in particular those regarding the pigmentation, which appear with the passing of time.
The skeletonization and the loss of elasticity can, on the other hand, be tackled with the infiltration, at a subcutaneous level of fat, coming from the patient herself (lipofilling) or with a filler like hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid, in fact, makes the hands less boney on the backs with an immediately younger appearance, because it is not only able to fill the tissue (which is thinner and deprived of subcutaneous fat which decreases with age), but is also able to act as a bio-stimulant, making the tissue more elastic and hydrated. Several sessions are often needed to obtain the required effect, which, however, is maintained for a really long time, to the extent that it is often not necessary to treat the area again a second time. The aesthetic result is instant and the treatment is carried out by injecting abundant amounts of hyaluronic acid into the space between the skin and the tendon fascia into an absolutely safe plane. The infiltration, carried out using a micro cannula, is completely safe and painless and requires no convalescence. The possible after-effects are those which are common to all fillers, therefore, the possibility of some bruising and swelling in the days immediately after the treatment. A further rejuvenating of the quality of the skin can be achieved with the use of bio-stimulation techniques even in this area.
